Controller differences
« on: July 13, 2017, 05:21:34 AM »
I have a controller with 2 'model' numbers. It says XPMT5 and XM20A on the back.

I see Amazon selling MT14A and XPMT4 units.

Are these all the same?

I don't know about the XPMT5/XM20A, but the Amazon description says the XPMT4 is the Pro version of the MT13A.  And the MT14A says it is the "new" MT13A.  I suspect the XPMT4 and MT14A are essentially the same unit with the Pro version perhaps having more testing and better quality control.

The X10Wiki says that the MT14A and XPMT5 are the same (basically).  I love how they change the part and leave the same model numbers and also change the model number but don't change the part.   :o

I did not see an X10Pro XTMT5 on their sales site yet. Only reference was the wiki link.

One possibility is they actually made an improvement and put a updated model number on it.
They did that with one of their wall switches. The XPS3 was replaced by the improved XPS4.
If they did change the XTM4 to an improved XTM5. I t would be nice to inform the public.
Though past experiences don't always show it happening.
