JV Digital Engineering Design Services

JV Digital Engineering has developed a variety of data acquisition and control systems.  Most have utilized either 8-bit Motorola/Freescale or PIC microcontrollers.  Complete engineering design services are available from concept through working prototypes.

One such system life tested the millivolt drop across switch contacts while switching high-current 240VAC loads.  Test requirements dictated the switch be in the hot side of the line, so the challenge was to achieve 1mV measurement accuracy while floating on top of a 240VAC waveform.  While easy for a single channel, the life test was run on up to 32 switches at a time.  So, the incremental cost of additional measurement channels had to be minimal.  Complete data was recorded so the gradual degradation of switch performance over extended operation could be analyzed.

Isolated High Voltage Measurement System

Other systems have measured a variety of environmental parameters using minimal power.  One planned project is to adapt the inexpensive X10 wireless motion detector to provide remote temperature monitoring.

If you have a challenging control or measurement problem that is not easily solved with commercially available equipment, we may be able to help.
